Autumn Autumn Go Away.

I've been a little busy with work lately, so I haven't had too much time to post anything.
However! I do have a whole heap of things clogging up my desktop ready for publishing.

Unfortunately, winter is looming. I can say I have avoided the stores for about 2 weeks now because I'm totally dreading seeing winter stock everywhere. Summer isn't over yet!!! It makes me sad to see the new styles and colours for next season when I'm not ready to be wearing any of it yet. Stay longer summer, please!
But while we're on the topic, this is what I intend my winter wardrobe to look like...

Isn't she gorgeous?
I'm loving the pop of red with the plaid shirt over the black tank, the dark blue skinny jeans and the biker ankle boots. Hair and make-up wise - Love both! The loose toussled locks and the rouge lips.
Perfect model-off-duty look and something I definately will be incorporating into my wardrobe in the next few months.

Ralph Lauren F/W 2010

Waking up at 3 am is worth it for VERY few and select people. Tom Pechaux, who keyed the Ralph Lauren show is one of them. Ralph's show is always a well oiled machine in terms of production and the atmosphere despite the huge number of photographers, celebs and press is always laid back.

There was way more room here...

to finally be able to properly set up a makeup station and work...

Tom demo-ing the makeup. He created a look that complimented the slightly bohemian gypsy feel of the clothes with softly matted skin and just the slightest hint of black on the eyes...

The Derek Lam Diaries...

A view of front of house at Derek Lam, the calm before the storm...

Backstage is this way...

Ummm...firstly, can you say 'Crowded'? Because that is an understatement to describe the backstage area at Capitale for Derek Lam's fall/winter 2010 show:

So many makeup artists and no space to put us all...Thank goodness were used to this. It's encountered often and were all friends; we make it work...

More importantly however, lets say Tom Pechaux, my favorite person to spend Fashion Week with and both he and Derek always makes it worthwhile whatever the backstage conditions may be. For Derek's show, he designed a navy smokey eye paired with matte copper lips. The tiniest hint of gloss on the lid would be added as the girls were in lineup. So, to sum it up: Yum, yum and more yum: Swag bags filled to the brim with products at the stations, PB&J sandwiches in catering, amazing clothes and gorgeous models...not a bad way to start off an early morning, my dearies...

Tom demo-ing the look on Iris...

Yay for breakfast!!! At 6am start time, there's never time to down anything before you arrive at work. You just grab your kit and go; a proper breakfast somehow gets lost in that translation PS: (I love a mini PB&J any day of the week...)

Model checklist...

Model board (yep, to answer your question, most of the top girls are here)...

Eniko (above) & Sedene (below) in final makeup...

The show was awesome. Personally, alot of the pieces that he showed play to my own style aesthetic and the shoes, coats and various leather pieces were absolutely to DIE for. Derek's cool quotient also went up exponentially as the girls walked to a soundtrack of Buffalo Gals mixed with the instrumental break of West Street Mob's Break Dance. Now, that's what I'm talking about first thing in the morning!!!! And, on the way out, he even helped me repack my swag bag as I was one of the last makeup artists to leave the venue; what a super cool, humble & gracious guy. (Honestly though, I wasn't expecting any less...) Below, are various backstage snapshots...

I told you that those leather pieces were to die for...the accessories in this collection were just a big ball of all over urban city chic buttery soft loveliness...

I'll see you guys later at Ralph Lauren...

It's Kate's Month.

Kate Bosworth at the Women's Fall 2010 Calvin Klein Collection After Party looking ah-mazing as always.
My favourite! - She never disappoints. Is there anything that she can't pull off?

Flower Power.

Abbey Lee takes on Russian Vogue.
She looks absolutely incredible.
I love the softness of the shoot, the clothes and the floral headpiece/necklace. So beautiful.
I wonder what she'll do next.
