Derek Lam F/W 2012

It was great to be back backstage with Tom Pechaux. I love opening Fashion Week with him doing the Derek Lam show as the makeup is always gorgeous. This year, the look that he designed was no exception:
The look for the show...

Estee Lauder eyeshadow palette (not available until Fall '12) and Sumputous Two tone Eye Opening mascara: Black is on one end of the tube and brown is on the other...

As a side, I'm always startled when I see my hands in pictures... Ginta looks great...my hand...um, not so sure that's the best shot of it...

Skin was perfected with Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup and Double Wear Flawless wear concealer (both available later this year). This stuff is quite yummy, provides flawless coverage and sinks right in...

Eyes were smoked out in an oval shape using a mixture of some of the colors in the new Estee Lauder eye palette seen above (not available until fall) and Sugar Cube eyeshadow on the inner corners and underneath the brow. Sumptuous Two Tone Mascara (available in April) was used on lashes, brown on the bottom, black on top. This was the first show that I actually applied both mascara and lipstick as all of my other shows featured looks that had no mascara and very nude lips courtesy of concealer. Tom used Pure Color Crystal Pink lipstick with a dab of Vanilla Truffle (UK Exclusive) on top. He then dusted it with a slight bit of the Sugar Cube eyeshadow in the center. I have yet to see lips this season with a finish other than something that was slightly matte. Cheeks were softly dusted with a mix of Alluring Rose and Brazen Bronze blushes (coming soon)...

Pretty right??

I'll see you guys tomorrow at The Row!

Helmut Lang F/W 2012

I started off my 2012 Fall Season of shows backstage at Helmut Lang with Lisa Butler keying the makeup. It's been a minute since I worked with Lisa, 2 seasons ago at BCBG to be exact so it was nice to be working with her again...

Sunday Riley Products at our station

A selection of colors used in the look for the show

The look that  Lisa Butler designed for Helmut Lang featured bronze enhanced brows, soft fresh & transparent natural matte skin and fresh pink cheeks. A mixture of Sunday Riley Fools Gold & Twig eyeshadows were used in the brows to softly enhance and fatten them without adding depth. Skin was perfected with the barely there Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer (LOVING this product) and Blushing blush was applied almost directly under the eyes, closer to the inner part of the face, not blended outward onto the apples of the cheeks. The same blush was also smushed into lips giving a blurred edge to the mouth:
