Lazy Days....

...and the girls that occupy them...

Pretty As A Picture.

Love, love her outfits to peices.
One Name: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Stunning face, amazing wardrobe, model discovered walking into an agency for an interview as a booker. One lucky lady.
More to follow up on, I'm sure.

Clare, The Real Top Model.

Clare is my absolute favourite Australia's Next Top Model contestant of... well, all-time. I think she has the most amazing facial features and oozes such confidence and maturety for such a young girl trying to make it big in the brutal modelling world. I know we'll be seeing more of this flawless wonder in months to come and I really cannot wait! Stay tuned, for sure.

Australia's Next Top Model.

My absolute favourite photograph out of the entire series'.

Tahnee Atkinson, Winner.

Cassi Van Den Dungen, Runner-Up.

I can most definately say that yes, I am a Tahnee fan and have willingly joined the 'I dislike Cassi bandwagon'. Tahnee was a true contestant. I was proud and very ecstatic watching her take out the tight battle in order to be crowned Australia's Next Top Model for 2009. I do understand why many people's votes would have gone toward Cassi, as she has the top model look for the moment and would make big bucks in the international market, but I do believe that the right choice was made and in the end the better model did win. Tahnee is a brilliant role model, young lady and now Australian model. She deserved to win and I hope she has the most fabulous career ahead of her, at such a tender age of sixteen. I can't wait to see her pretty face gracing the pages of magazines throughout Australia and the world. LOOK OUT!

Hottie Radar: High.

I have recently stumbled across this lovely looking gent by the name of Artur Devalbray. Yet to find out which country he reins from, but we can put all of that aside for the time-being and focus on the important things...

The sun sets at 20:43...

...and that was around the time that we had to take our first shot. Planning for a nighttime fashion shoot is always fun and usually involves first checking The Weather Channel. Take: Guy Fawlkes, a bit of Clockwork Orange meets fine & dandy gentleman, Interview with the Vampire, Jack the Ripper and sprinkle in a bit of that dude from the movie Powder and you get a visual of exactly what we were after for my latest mens editorial shoot...I don't know what was more fun for this shoot: doing the makeup & grooming or driving the location van around the dark abandoned streets of NYC not being able to see out of the back window because of the stylists clothing rack...

Hybrid Theory...

Cross Audrey Marnay with Nadja Auermann and sprinkle in a bit of Maggie Rizer (but with the ability to be edgier and sexier) and you've got the beauty Colleen below. I'm loving her bone structure with those wide eyes and high cheekbones, and I ADORE her freckles. She's strong and delicate at the same time. We actually cast her because of her freckles. And man, can she pose...I'm honored to be putting some of her very first beauty images in her book...

White-Out

When I was in 5th grade and bored in class, I used to paint my nails with White Out, or ahem, at that time, I think it was called Liquid Paper.  I liked the opacity but the finish of it sucked and my 'manicure' never lasted more than 5 seconds...Mike Potter must have painted his nails with white out too as he's the mastermind makeup artist genius behind KO Knockout Cosmetics.

I first met Mike and worked with him years ago backstage when he was keying the Rick Owens show. If my memory serves me correctly, this may have even been before he created and designed the hair and makeup for both the stage and movie versions of Hedwig & The Angry Inch. In addition to being a dope makeup artist, he has launched a line of 'flatte' nail polishes that go on opaque and have a matte 'flatte' or no-shine finish. I am LOVING these and am all over them. I can now permanently put the White Out away and stop omitting top coats from my mani's and pedi's in an attempt to get the same effect. As a makeup artist, I'm a purist, meaning the pure-er the color, the better and the no shine finishes on these lacquers really allow for the purity of the pigments and the beauty of the color to be shown off without all of that glossy topcoat hoopla...

I love the actual product but I'm also loving the design and feel of the bottle in my hand too!!! The bottle design sports a sort of victorian art deco feel and has a handle that is longer than most that feels really comfortable in your hand .  The bristles on the brush have a nice bounce and spread to them to allow the color to be applied evenly and effortlessly with just one coat. Leave flatte if you so desire or buff your nails into a satiny finish. Seriously, this nail lacquer is the business folks. Kudos Mike, Kudos...

Class is in session...

Rashida B. the eyebrow expert tells it perfectly, way better than I ever could on how we met. Rashida, in addition to being a super successful eyebrow guru with her own studio, runs a great blog that is required reading for those serious about getting into all facets of the beauty industry.

This week I was her featured artist and Image Maker over on her blog 'BeautySchooled'. She asked me some amazing and poignant interview questions to which I was candidly honest. If you want to know more about me, and about how I got my start, mosey on over there, have a look-see and read it, won't you??? I'd love to hear your thoughts....

And for more information on Rashida its fabulous author and her eyebrow studio 'The B Spot' in Chicago please visit her official website.

Whirlwind!!!!

Let me start out by saying that the purpose of this post is 2 fold: the first is to kill 2 birds with 1 stone so I can go back to bed and catch up on some much needed rest as this is my only day off, and the 2nd is to share what I've been up to with you guys...
I've been insanely busy the last few weeks; I can't even quite remember all of the projects, BUT, the following is a narrative in pictures of some of my last few weeks:

I love being so early that I have the studio to myself, at least for a few minutes

And  I also enjoy getting the first pick at the catering (minus the meat)

Sometimes I'm neat....

Yummm...Bier!

and sadly, sometimes, not so much....
