This is what happens when the model doesn't use a straw...

...she mussed the precise line of her lips...its kinda cool although I fixed it before we returned to shooting...

Shelby, Emoting...

This is Shelby. These are her outtakes. She emotes well...She moves well. Heck, shes just a darn good model:

If only the sky could look like that all the time...
I'm not sure whats cooler: her new wrist tattoo, or, the fab lip color I whipped up for her (my vote is the lipcolor *wink wink*)

Derek Lam Spring 2011

I was back with Tom Pechaux for another season and round of shows and kicked it off with on Derek Lam.

  Holy Shwag Bag!!!

I was greeted first by a bag of goodies from Estee Lauder (which was great as I was running low on several items like their foundations and their Sumptuous mascara that I feel in love with and have had a love affair with ever since last seasons round of shows)...and then by Tom :)

The model board...

The hair look for the show...
(one of the first where I've seen the hair down, but still with texture blown into it...)

Tom demo-ing the look for the show...

He created a fun look with red eyeliner and a highlight of white shadow on the inner eye in the shape of a triangle that made everything pop. I love to do a nude lip and thankfully, thats how he finished off the look courtesy of a yummy shade by Estee Lauder called Vanilla Truffle (yet to be released to the masses). Brows were brushed into their natural positions.

Jill Stuart Spring 2011

a partial view of the model board at Jill Stuart...that featured many of the big girls (above) & a preview of the show look Charlotte designed (below):

It was nice to work with Charlotte Tilbury again as its been a few seasons since I had done so. She can always be counted on to give a face and she did so again at Jill Stuart by designing a look that featured shiny skin played up with strategic placement of a colorless cream and a super shiny opaque orange lip.

Anais Mali

Guido created the hair for this show: A ladylike, yet textured & disheveled bun/knot with wisps left deliberately loose around the hairline.

the look was lovely on the runway, the light hitting the sheen on the face in all of the right places...

Meet the Twins: Flora & Fauna

They live in the forest...

And meander & traipse on brick pathways...

On Analeise, I did her makeup mixing a smokey grey tone and an ochre on the eyes applied in a roundish shape reminiscent of the 1920's and a sienna yellow beige shade on the lips. I eyeballed and custom mixed the lipcolor using OCC Liptars...
Yana got a variation of the same look, afterall, theyre 'sisters' the 'fauna' to 'flora' but a bit softer on the eyes and a rose tone on the lips courtesy of YSL Rouge Volupte in 03 Ultimate Beige
Obsessed with Sparkly Nails right now. I did 2 different lacquers for this look, one a greigy base and the other a sparkly topcoat courtesy of OPI for Sephora. I love the way that it catches and glistens in the light...sort of like minx on a diet...

and dance with each other...

Then fall down on the ground when all is said and done...

Theyre not heavy...they're my lashes...

Emma is laughing because her eyelids got a work out keeping all of those eyelashes in place...

Here's an excerpt from a looonnng day (and night) playing around at a recent shoot:

The Setting:

The Goods:

a plethora of sparkly things and clothes with metallic accents & details...

and shoes with sculptural details although there really is no explanation required for the above picture...

this sort of looks like my closet...

Carousel de Beaute...

Sometimes you just have to say yes when a booker sends you a girl as special as Kristina K. You know that the opportunity to shoot them again is going to be slim, more likely ebbing on the side of none. At 16, she's already shot for Japanese Vogue and Calvin Klein. A week after we had the opportunity to shoot her, her agency made her Conde Nast exclusive...

Kristina K.'s agency polaroids

We knew going into it that we wouldn't have enough time to shoot her for hours on end but fun could be had nonetheless...We spent a few hours together and had a bit of playtime before she had to run off to have a casting with superstylist Katie Grand.

and other girlie accoutrements...

Check out the story Carousel de Beaute featuuring Kristina in the March 2010 issue of Boho Magazine:

I'll update with these images on my website soon, but for now, peep some behind the scenes coverage...
