"Wait, Where Do I know you from...?"

New York Fashion Week Backstage Item
Elie Tahari by Brett Jackson

The title of this entry is usually one of the first five things that I say to someone, or someone else says to me upon arrival backstage. Backstage reunions with fellow makeup artist friends that I have not seen in a while are always great. It's also cool because sometimes we don't know who else is going to be on the team until they walk through the door. Then, we always try to remember where we all first met and the last job that we all worked together. (It is usually some show way in the past that no one can quite pinpoint). Sometimes we remember, most times we don't....After a brief catch up, we then get down to business of doing makeup....

For the Elie Tahari presentation, Brett Jackson who was keying created a look where the intensity was on the eyes; A sultry sophisticated smokey achieved with a combination of a brown cream shadow with a metallic "mulchy" brown eyeshadow on top; kohl black liner smudged into the lash line top and bottom with some fabulous white shimmer on the inner corner of the eyes and on the cheekbones. Blush was a soft organic neutral pink and the lips were 'nude-ed' out with concealer to reduce the pink in them and then topped with just the tiniest hint of gloss for a slight texture. No mascara or inner rim liner was used and brows for the most part were kept natural, just brushed up and groomed. Great job Brett on creating this look it was gorgeous and fun to execute! Thanks for having me on board!
